Pesto is a classic sauce in our household, made with fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, and Rallis Olive Oil. This vibrant green sauce has a distinctive aromatic flavor and is incredibly versatile. We use it as a pasta sauce, but it can also be used as a spread on sandwiches, a dip for vegetables, or a topping for pizza. The origins of pesto can be traced back to the Liguria region of Italy, where it was traditionally made with a mortar and pestle. Nowadays, it is easy to make pesto at home using a food processor or blender, and it only takes a few minutes to prepare. Once you try homemade pesto, you will never go back to store-bought versions again!
